Holi is a festival of joy in Indian festivals. There is an opportunity to dance, sing, laugh, joke, have fun and throw out thoughts like jealousy. This festival is celebrated on the full moon of Falgun month. There are many legends associated with Holi. Holi is lit a night before Holi.

There is a legend for this that the demon king Harinyakashipu, the father of Prahlad, considered himself a god. He was the ultimate opponent of Vishnu but Prahlad was a devotee of Vishnu. He stopped Prahlad from doing devotion to Vishnu, when he did not agree, he tried to kill him many times.

Prahlad's father got fed up and sought help from his sister Holika. Holika agreed to help her brother. Holika had a boon of not burning in the fire, so Holika sat in a pyre with Prahlad, but by the grace of Vishnu, Prahlad remained safe and Holika was burnt to ashes.

This story indicates that good must triumph over evil. Even today, Holi is lit on the full moon day, and on the next day, everyone pours gulal, abir, and different colors on each other. This festival is the festival of colors.
